Brianna Keilar is an American journalist currently serving as a co-anchor of the afternoon edition of CNN News Central. She previously held roles at CNN as a White House correspondent, senior political correspondent, Congressional correspondent, and general assignment correspondent based in Washington, D.C.
Before that, Keilar worked with CNN Newsource as a national correspondent, also in Washington. Prior to joining New Day, she hosted CNN Right Now with Brianna Keilar.

After wrapping up her time at CBS, Keilar made the leap to CNN Newsource, where she took on the role of correspondent, delivering breaking news and reports straight from Washington, D.C., to around 800 partner stations. As a general assignment correspondent, she was on the front lines of major events, including the tragic 2007 Virginia Tech shooting, where she was the first CNN reporter to arrive at the scene.
While covering Congress, Keilar was honored with the 2009 Everett McKinley Dirksen Award for Distinguished Reporting of Congress, thanks to her insightful coverage of the $700 billion bank bailout in the fall of 2008. Later, during her time reporting on the Obama administration, she snagged the 2014 Aldo Beckman Memorial Award for her work on the rollout of Obamacare.
